Three World Cup’s national oldest-youngest scorers
There are now three players each of whom is both the youngest and the oldest goal-scorer for his country at the World Cup.
Until the 2026 edition, Michael Laudrup (Denmark) was unique in this distinction.
During the current tournament, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo joined him. They both updated a record for oldest scorer category in their teams (Martin Palermo held it before in Argentina and Pepe in Portugal), being already also the youngest scorers.
All details are in the table.
Naturally, national teams that have only one goal-scorer in their World Cup history, are not considered.
