Griezmann & Simeone: most scoring player-coach duo in La Liga history
Antoine Griezmann and Diego Simeone have recently become the player & coach duo with the most goals scored by the former under the other in La Liga history.
Griezmann’s tally of the league goals for Atlético Madrid in this partnership, which lasted from 2014 to 2026, has reached 143, until he moved this summer to MLS playing now for Orlando City.
That’s five more goals than Lionel Messi scored in the league for Barcelona under Pep Guardiola. However, the Messi & Guardiola duo existed for a much shorter time (four years), and the Argentine played in it far fewer matches (136) than Griezmann did under Simeone (349).
