Messi, the third in history to reach 75 free kick goals
Yesterday, Lionel Messi scored a direct free-kick goal for Inter Miami in an MLS match against San Diego (2–2).
This is the 75th goal of his career scored in this manner. He is the third player in football history to reach this milestone.
Only two Brazilians have scored more direct free-kick goals: Jair da Rosa Pinto (77) and Marcelinho Carioca (78).
As the figures show, the great Argentine needs just three more such goals to tie the world record.
See the table for details. Only goals scored at the top level are included.
