Mbappé repeats Klose’s feat
Kylian Mbappé has played vs Iraq his 100th game for France, at the age of 27 years 184 days. He became the 4th youngest European in history to reach 100 caps.
The continental record holder is Sergio Ramos who reached the milestone with Spain at 26 years 357 days (the table below).
*Mbappé is the just the third player in World Cup history to score in his 100th match for his country and the 2nd to score a brace in it, after Miroslav Klose who scored twice vs Australia in his 100th game for Germany at the 2010 edition.
The third in this company, Luis Suárez, scored 1 goal vs Saudi Arabia in his 100th game for Uruguay in the 2018 World Cup.
*Only one other French player had previously achieved this milestone in a World Cup match: Hugo Lloris in 2018.
