Algeria vs Austria 3-3 (Group J)
*Austria scored as many as 6 goals in a single World Cup tournament for the first time since 1982 (when they scored 7).
*Marko Arnautovic became the first player to score multiple goals for Austria (2) in a single World Cup tournament since Walter Schachner in 1982 (also 2).
*Arnautović has now scored 2 World Cup goals at the age of 37 or older. Only Lionel Messi (6 for Argentina), Roger Milla (5 for Cameroon), and Cristiano Ronaldo (3 for Portugal) have scored more at that age.
*Riyad Mahrez (35 years and 4 months old) became the second-oldest African player to score a brace in a World Cup match, behind Roger Milla (who scored 2 braces at age 38 with Cameroon in 1990).
*Mahrez became the second Algerian player to score a World Cup brace, following Salah Assad against Chile on 24 June 1982.
