Havertz’s feats in Champions League finals
By scoring for Arsenal in the 2025-26 Champions League final against PSG, Kai Havertz became the fourth player in the history of the competition (including the European Cup era) to score for two different clubs in final matches. He previously scored for Chelsea in the 2021 final (1-0 against Manchester City).
*Havertz is also the third German player in history to score in two finals of European Cup/Champions League. His predecessors did so for same club, Bayern Munich: Gerd Müller in 1974 and 1975, Franz Roth in 1975 and 1976.
*Havertz is the only German player to have scored in a European Cup/Champions League finals for non-German clubs.
Lothar Matthäus (with Inter Milan), Andreas Möller (with Juventus), and Markus Babbel (with Liverpool) did so in European finals in other competition (UEFA Cup in each case).
*Havertz became the 2nd player in history Players to score in European finals for two different teams from the same city (London in both cases), after
Jimmy Greaves who scored for London XI in the 1958 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup final and for Tottenham in the 1963 European Cup Winners’ Cup final
*Havertz became only the second player to start a Champions League final for two different English clubs, after Ashley Cole (also Arsenal and Chelsea).
