IBRAHIM MBAYE ON PODIUM

Mbaye on podium of World Cup youngest scorers

With his goal vs France (1-3), Senegal’s Ibrahim Mbaye became the third youngest player (18 years and 142 days) in the World Cup history, behind only Gavi and Pele (who is still the only one to score at the age of 17).
Mbaye became also the youngest Senegal’s player to appear in a World Cup.
It should be noted that Mexican Manuel Rosas, who is often featured in various media as the scorer at the 1930 World Cup at the age of 18 years 93 days, was in fact 22 years old at the time.
