Europe’s top 5 leagues: fastest to reach 100 goals in each
As we have previously noted, at the start of the current season (September 18), Harry Kane set a new Bundesliga record by becoming the fastest player in the league’s history to reach 100 goals—a milestone he achieved in just 98 matches.
In light of this, let’s compare his achievement with similar records from the other leagues among Europe’s Big Five.
The table below lists the record-holders and the specific match number in which each player scored his 100th goal.
Curiously, in all five national leagues, the record is held by a player of a different nationality (to the league).
The record in England has stood the longest—dating back to the XIX century. It took the Scotsman John Campbell 102 matches to reach 100 goals. erling Haaland came relatively close to breaking this record reaching the 100 goal mark in his 111th game.
