Mbappé matched Eusébio’s feat
In the 2025-26 season, Kylian Mbappé became the top scorer in both of the season’s major international tournaments: the Champions League and the World Cup.
He became only the second player in football history to achieve this feat.
The first was Eusébio, sixty years earlier; in the 1965-66 season, he scored nine goals for Portugal at the World Cup, having previously scored seven goals (sharing the top spot with Flórián Albert) in the European Cup.
