The second ever armless player’s goal in European competitions

Danish footballer Marius Krüger Lindh, playing for the Faroese club NSÍ Runavík, became on 30 July just the second ever one-armed footballer to score in a European club competition match.
The right winger found the net in the 70th minute of the return leg of the Conference League second qualifying round against the Slovenian team Koper.
His goal brought the score to 2–0 for Runavík, forcing the game into extra time. In the first leg, Koper had defeated their opponents away from home, scoring two unanswered goals. Eventually, Lindh’s team finished the game with a 3-1 win and progressed to the next qualifying round after the shootouts.
The 27-year old Marius, born without his right forearm, has now 6 appearances in the European club competitions, more than two other armless players in their history, Jimmy Hasty (Northern Ireland, 2 games in 1963) and Guy Thill (Luxembourg, 2 games in 1971).
Hasty was the first player from this very specific category to score in a major European club competition. Although his Dundalk lost a tie to Zürich in the first round of European Cup in 1963, he netted a goal and assisted for another in a Dundalk’s 2-1 away win that followed a larger home defeat (0-3).
It was the first ever away victory achieved by any Irish side in a European competition – in which Hasty, nicknamed “The One-Armed Wonder”, has played the crucial role. 
He lost his left arm at the age of 14 years in an industrial accident at a mill in Belfast (on his very first working day).
